Kanon, ep23

Dammit. I hate it when a show makes me cry.
*sob*

If you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, this picture isn't a spoiler.

(Update: In comments, able reader Will pointed out that the original picture COULD have been a spoiler... and the second he pointed out how it was, I slapped my forehead in disgust and changed the picture to the one above. I also edited his comment to remove the spoiler in question.... If you want to see what the original picture was, CLICK HERE. Good catch, Will!)

But now for something completely different (includes a small episode spoiler): ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
KyoAni really likes to sneak hat-tips into their shows, don't they?
The Melancholy of Aizawa Yuuichi???

Left: Grownup Asahina Mikuru from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
Right: Grownup Sawatari Makoto from Kanon 2006.

Actually, in this case, I don't think they should have made the characters look so similar. (note: well, maybe not SO similar, but at the time that's how it looked) I spent a good couple of minutes laughing at the screen... that's a major speedbump for this episode.

Still: dammit. *snif*

1 You must not be watching the [a.f.k] version, because I haven't seen their's pop up on animesuki yet. Having watched up through 22 (I started based in part on what you've written here as well as trying to understand the whole "sad girls in snow" joke about Piro at Megatokyo), I would say that screen is a bit of a spoiler, but only if you ever manage to sob your way through the series. The [deleted by Wonderduck] is a dead giveaway.

2 You're absolutely right about how that picture could have been a spoiler... I didn't even notice! I've changed it.

It's funny you should talk about the fansub I'm watching...

I actually DO watch AFK fansubs... as soon as they become available, they're being downloaded. The past three episodes, though, I've also been d/l'g the SS-Eclipse fansub, because...

...they're available on Friday, and I don't want to have to wait any longer than I have to for the new ep.

I prefer the AFK subs, and I'm keeping those. As soon as their version of the ep is d/l'd, I delete the SS-Eclipse version.

Coincidentally, the two translators must be identical twins, because there's very little difference between their choices.

3 You know, if you took one eye from each of them and traded them out, I bet they both could shoot a Mi-Mi-Mikuru Beam!
