O, Canada...

20061116.1155: Canada detained a man at the Montreal airport that is thought to be a Russian spy. My question is this: what has Canada got that anyone would want to spy on?

Beer.
Moose.
Hockey.
Spider Robinson.
Trees.
Did I say 'Beer'?
Half of Niagra Falls.
Loonies.
...and, most importantly: YOUPPI!

1 Someone actually responded to that post with a list of military and industrial assets in Canada that someone would want to spy on. I swear, I have some of the most humorless readers on the planet. Do I have to create a "Joke" tag and use it rigorously?

2 You mean Youppi! isn't a military asset? Certainly he was important... for many years, he was the only reason to watch a Montreal Expos game, even if they were playing the Cubs.

"It's a small crowd here in Montreal, but they make up for it by being extremely quiet."

3 Forget about military and industrial assets. I am much more concerned about sharing our hockey secrets.

If they ever find out what we've been putting in the water all these years, Canada's doomed!
